Thank You to our Friends at the American Village!

The David Mathews Center for Civic Life would like to extend a sincere thank you to our friends at the American Village. The Mathews Center recently concluded our 8th Annual Civic Institute on Friday, February 2nd, 2024. The day was filled with meaningful conversations among like-minded civic leaders from across the state, and it could not have been done without our partnership with the American Village. Since our inaugural Civic Institute in 2016, the Mathews Center has hosted all eight of our institutes on the American Village campus. The support from the American Village team in lending us access to their campus has allowed our annual event to grow tremendously!

This year’s event consisted of six panel sessions, a plenary session, and a luncheon keynote address with over 230 participants from across the state who joined us. The various sessions took place across the entire campus allowing our guests to engage in conversations while exploring the revolutionary American Village. Sessions were held in the colonial courthouse, Independence Hall, and in the rotunda, while the luncheon portion of the program took place in the grand ballroom of Liberty Hall.

The Mathews Center is blessed for our partnership with the American Village and are grateful that in addition to hosting our annual event, we are fortunate enough to call the campus our homebase. Our offices and civic learning space are located at the American Village campus. Both are beautiful spaces and we would like to thank the leadership and facilities team for their continued support and assistance.
